Although magnificent firework festivals are held all over Japan throughout the summer, fireworks can also be enjoyed in this historical neighborhood even in winter. Everyone gathers to light a lantern and release them, making a wish as they watch them floating in the night sky. It is a warm and welcoming event put together by locals.
